Gaza Rally In Melbourne, Sunday, 18th Jan.

Salaam All,

Please attend in large numbers.

GAZA RALLY

Sunday 18 January 2009

2.00pm

“bring flags, banners and placards and tell your family and friends to come”

State Library of Victoria

Swanston Street, Melbourne City

then marching to Federation Square

We had 3000 people last time, lets make it even bigger this time!

Well, I guess since I'm childfree this sunday arvo, I might just head on down and lend my support.

To Israel.

Now, I missed the one back on sunday before last; these are not my photos. A friend of mine who supports Israel went to the pro and anti-Israel demos took them and I'm posting them for him.

If anyone wishes to join me in showing support for Israel just by being there, drop me a line.

Must be nice to feel so confident in one side's rightness that you can protest in their support.

Unfortunately both sides keep killing civilians, which makes that difficult for me.

Why, what a curious thing to say Jeremy.

I would've personally thought the qualifier would be whether the killing of civilians was deliberate and intentional, as opposed to accidental.

Kind of simplifies things somewhat.

Never mind, I'm sure you'll achieve 'niceness' and 'confidence' one day and we can all expect you at the barricades shouting simple slogans and then skipping home to a nice latte.

You can do it Jeremy! Remember, leftie nirvana is only protest march away!

I reckon it would, Chrissie. It's been far too long, so why on earth not?

Jeremy, why don't you come along also? While you may be convinced that both sides are as bad as one another, it could be an interesting experiment just to observe those for and against Israel in action.

I know I'm expecting to get educated.

Very nicely said Nilk.

How about it Jeremy? Care to come along and observe?

Why does the left want to support filthy fascist scum like Hamas and why are the so called "majority of peaceful" muslims so quiet.

Islam is like a weed and must be stamped out. Don't protest against Israel, send them money so they can finish the job!

Anon, I'm going along to support Israel.

I see no reason why these people should wander on through my city unimpeded with their signs and no objection.

I'll be there with to watch, and witness what happens.

I want to see for myself the signs and hear the slogans and rhetoric.

I've had discussions with socialists before about Israel and Gaza, and it's eternally fascinating how Hamas' stated desire to obliterate Israel just doesn't seem to exist.

It's not just a blind spot, it's a bloody big black hole sucking in anything resembling logic.

You, too, can come along and watch.

Maybe I should wear a blue helmet to denote my (biased) observer status.

I'm a big Israel fan. :)

Palestine is free.

The real problem is that nobody wants it.

Egypt?
Jordan?
etc.

How sad am I? I never even knew I had a cock.

It also took me about 10 minutes to figure out what the emoticon thingy is at the end of his comment. I think it's supposed to signify rape.

What is it with muslims and rape?
